Our Providers & Staff

I am pleased to introduce Nurse Practitioner, Emilie Gruhl, DNP, FNP-BC as a new addition to my growing practice!

She will be working closely with me to provide care to existing patients — addressing needs such as urgent and non-urgent follow-up appointments, annual exams, follow-up communication such as call backs and patient portal messages, as well as seeing new patients.

Emilie received her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from USF and is nationally board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner.  She has been shadowing me in my practice for 2 years and shares my focus on the ‘whole body’ approach to wellness by incorporating integrative medicine treatment options into her practice. In addition, Emilie has over 15 years experience in women’s health — working with adolescents and adults in gynecology and as a labor and delivery nurse (RN) at CPMC.  She is currently available for women’s health annual exams, Pap smears, etc.  Please feel very comfortable in scheduling appointments with her as we will work together in continuing to strive toward optimizing your health!

Please see below for more information about nurse practitioners.

 What is a nurse practitioner?

Nurse Practitioners (NPs) are healthcare providers that deliver a unique blend of nursing and medical care. As primary care providers they assist patients in making better lifestyle and healthcare decisions. NPs can either have a master’s degree or doctorate degree (DNP).  NPs can prescribe medications, order labs and x-rays, diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, infections and injuries, and manage patient care.
